Class Description:
Fun Fit Kids is a fitness program designed for kids aged 0-12 years old. It is a class designed to make fitness fun for kids. Fun Fit Kids will give children the foundations to stay healthy, now and into adulthood. Fun Fit Kids ensures children experience the key fitness components such as cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength and endurance, balance and flexibility. Kids will build self confidence and self esteem in this non-competitive atmosphere where everyone is successful. Fitness is fun!
The class will include the following components:
- Circuit training – kids will learn a variety of different fitness exercises set up as stations such as agility ladder, jumping jacks, burpees, squats etc.
- Zumbatomic – Zumba Fitness for Kids – Latin dance aerobics – a very fun cardiovascular workout. Kids will learn basic moves in different Latin style dances such as salsa, cumbia, reggaeton, merengue etc.
- Pilates – kids will learn basic core strengthening and balance exercises.
- Yoga – kids will learn basic yoga postures to help increase their flexibility and the proper way to stretch.
- Games: a variety of fun fitness related games will be played such as egg/spoon races, parachute games, ring toss, bean bag balance etc.
Sample Workout:
- Warm up: 10-15min – Zumbatomic – 3-4 songs
- Water break – 2min
- Circuits: 4 stations – 5-10min
- Station 1 – agility ladder, Station 2 – sit ups, Station 3 – burpees,
Station 4 – balance pod standing. - Egg spoon race – 4 groups
- Parachute play
- Water Break – 2min
- Games: 5-10min
- Pilates/Yoga: 15min – core conditioning, balance, flexibility and relaxation.
